These Oxo Eco-Straw 250s Assorted look just like regular plastic straws, but they are not just regular straws. They are eco-friendly and biodegradable. Instead of having a lifespan of 30+ years the Oxo Eco-Straw 250s Assorted will break down in only 18 months meeting the EN13432 Tier 3 Ecotoxicity standard.

• The Oxo straws are also non-toxic and food grade.
• The Oxo straws come in 6 bright colours including red, yellow, blue, green, purple and pink.
• Each straw is 205mm long with a diameter of 5mm.

Oxo straws make a great decoration for collage and embellishment and can be used as a mark making tool for painting and printing.

They can also be used for ink blowing art where drops of ink are placed on paper and blown with a straw to create intricate branching effects.

STEAM and construction are other areas where straws are useful.

How do the Oxo Straws break down?

If the Oxo straw finds its way into an open environment, this is where its degradable properties work best. The Oxo straw is made with an additive called Reverte, which alters the molecular structure of the plastic and allows it to break down much quicker than a regular PP straw. After an initial 48 hours of sunlight and exposure to oxygen, the straw will begin to degrade and become brittle. It then continues to break down to where it can be attacked in a micro-biological form, eventually degrading to CO2 and Biomass. Once fully broken down the straws pose no threat to the earth.
